With two degrees in marketing and theatre dance education, YAYA began her successful choreography career as the choreographer for her college cheer squad. After college YAYA moved to Atlanta Georgia and became a faculty member at Clayton State dance program were she taught for years and earned a spot as a professional dancer for LA Face Records. During that time she gained a greater understanding of what a singer – performer really needs to know to be noticed and completely successful in this very tough music industry. For that reason, she decided to close her Smithsonian’s restaurant and start her talent search company. And there Socialyaya was born – an entertainment news, talent search site that helps artist with exposure and gives the opportunity for the artists to earn funding through the crowd funding capability.
With the flexibility of her own business, YAYA is free to focus on each individual winning artist’s needs instead of a rigid formatted approach. No cookie cutter teaching here! Each winning has their own specific needs and YAYA is a master at quickly identifying those and tackling them head on. Her teaching prowess speaks for itself. YAYA has worked with numerous labels such as Warner Brothers, Lyric Street, Sony, Hollywood Records, and LA Face. Her reputation for results has her in demand by labels and management companies throughout the U.S and abroad. She has also been a featured expert on an upcoming reality television show. This show is based on women in the broadcasting – were YAYA covers sports and entertainment stories and still find time to be an online contributor for TMZ.
An active instructor, YAYA has performed with artists like Usher, Monica, TLC, Cherish and 702 and numerous other national and locally successful artists. She’s currently working with a Houston rap artist’s (C-Stax) tour as a concert consultant. Staying involved as a performer helps YAYA stay current on what a singer needs to know!
